The Essex Senior League is looking to recruit three key officers in a pleasing sign of potential progress behind the scenes.
An advert has been posted looking for volunteers to apply for…
Sponsorship & Fundraising Officer
The league has been without a title sponsor for a decade – and the new officer will hope for better luck that the last two deals.
The last sponsorship – with Westview Rail – ended in 2006 and two of the directors were jailed for five years for fraud.
The owner of the league’s previous sponsor Eastway was also later jailed for an unrelated multi-million pound fraud, something which also saw the sad demise of Leyton FC.
There were two sponsors before then and both organisations are happily still alive and kicking – Schweppes and Foresters Friendly Society.
Social Media Officer
An area that has been sorely neglected. The Essex Senior League’s social media presence is virtually non-existent. Its @essexsenior Twitter account has been silent since August 6th.
The Facebook page is a little more active but that too has posted nothing for more than a month. There are no other social media profiles – Instagram, Snapchat – etc that we are aware of.
A blank canvas – perhaps for a Clapton fan to get their hands on?
Charter Standard Officer
Charter Standard is an FA kitemark of quality, indicating that a club or a league is well-run. To have an officer in charge of working towards achieving this seems a positive step.
The ESL tell us that the vacancies are open to all. So if you fancy any of the roles, contact the address below.
The advert says…
Whilst all roles are voluntary roles, they allow a behind the scenes glimpse into the National League System and senior football. Experience is not necessary but a love of the game would be of benefit.
All officers work closely with experienced committee members who will support and guide you in your new roles.
To apply:- please contact email@example.com by 10th December 2016.
